Jessica Simpson and John Mayer cat and mouse games is Game Over for now. John and Jessica have always kept us guessing as to the status of their relationship by playing cat and mouse with the media. 
Rumors are swirling that the on-again off-again couple has called it quit. "They have broken up," a source close to Jess told People. "But they have broken up and gotten back together at least 10 times before."
Jessica Simpson is currently attending the Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France, promoting her latest big screen comedy "Major Movie Star" and the source said she's still in contact with him.
"They talk to each other at least six times a day. I don't know if this breakup is permanent, but for right now they are broken up," the source was quoted as saying, adding that both Jess and Mayer have "been emailing and talking to each other" since she went to Cannes.
Simpson however did not let her break-up affect her work. When asked about the split, Simpson replied: "I am very happy, but I don't really want to talk about my personal life tonight because it's not what it's about. But I am very happy. I will let you know that."
On a side note, it seems like Jessica was sporting a lighter do. Now that she is not with John Mayer is she going back to blonde?
